Daring Daughters Group- March 2022

Healing Unmet Maternal Needs

  • Started Mar. 7
  • 595 Canadian dollars

Service Description

Inspired by the book, “Mother Hunger: How Adult Daughters Can Understand and Heal From Lost Nurturance, Protection and Guidance” by Kelly McDaniel, you will explore what mother hunger is, how these attachment injuries impacted you, and ways to heal from them. By reading the book and through creative and reflective assignments, you will learn about attachment, trauma and understand what your needs as a young girl were, that may not have been met by the maternal figure in your life. In building community, sharing your experiences, and reflecting on these events, you will be able to bring soothing and healing to some of these deep seated wounds. This group will run online for 6 weeks, from 6pm-8pm. Participants are responsible for purchasing the book and creative materials (a scrapbook or notebook, markers/pencil crayons, glue). The investment to participate in this group is $595 ($50 for each hour of treatment). Some insurance carriers will reimburse for participation in group therapy, and it is the responsibility of the participant to check what is needed for reimbursement.
