Join us for a 9 week journey of emotional healing and exploration into the events that could have broken us down but instead broke us open. Inspired by the best-selling book, Broken Open: How Difficult Times Can Help Us Grow by Elizabeth Lesser, you will explore the events in your life that have created those “broken open” moments, times where you have chosen to rise above the pain, the defenses and the challenges. Everyone faces moments where we can either break down or break open. Embracing these breaking open moments creates change and leads us to a life that is more fulfilling, authentic and purposeful. Shying away from those “broken open” moments can leave us: -Feeling guilty or ashamed of wanting more from life -Believing that we don’t deserve more than what we have right now -Seeking an escape from painful experiences -Restricting or limiting our relationships so we don’t get hurt In these group sessions, you will have the opportunity to: -Expand your understanding of purpose, fulfillment and how to turn your pain into healing -Share your thoughts and processes in a safe, confidential, and supportive space -Identify the emotional and behavioural habits that are not serving you -Feel heard and seen by others without judgment, criticism, or analysis -Create art as a form of expressing ideas, emotions and vulnerability -Take action towards being more in love and liberated in your own life Your group facilitator is Kimberly Hamilton, Registered Provisional Psychologist, Teacher, and Certified Grief Recovery Specialist®. Through her own broken open moments and group processing, Kimberly has experienced the power of rising above. The art journaling exercises used in this journey will take the participants out of their head and deeper into their feelings, supporting the removal of their own limitations and barriers. Kimberly believes that every person can benefit from the group experience and the activities that the group will work through.
